Wedding Photography at Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club

Magnolia Point is a beautiful Golf and Country Club in Green Cove Springs, just outside of Jacksonville. The golf course provides a stunning backdrop for photos and the outdoor ceremony space is one of my favorites around.

Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club Wedding Photography

Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club in Green Cove Springs, Florida, is a beautiful wedding venue with lush greenery, scenic golf course views, and a lovely indoor reception space. But what really stands out to me is the ceremony location. It’s honestly one of my favorite outdoor ceremony spaces I’ve photographed in the Jacksonville area.

The greenery behind the ceremony site creates an absolutely gorgeous backdrop. It’s one of those settings that doesn’t need much decoration to look beautiful, and it photographs wonderfully. Combined with the golf course and clubhouse, Magnolia Point offers a nice variety of locations for wedding photos.

My Favorite Wedding Photo Locations at Magnolia Point

The Outdoor Ceremony Space

The ceremony space is easily my favorite part of Magnolia Point. The lush greenery surrounding it creates a beautiful natural backdrop, and it’s a wonderful setting for capturing the emotion of a wedding ceremony.

One of my favorite photographs I’ve taken here is of a father walking his daughter down the aisle. He was so happy and proud that he started tearing up, and I captured this beautiful moment of the two of them together. Those genuine, emotional moments are what I love most about wedding photography, and this is one of those pictures that has always stuck with me.

The Golf Course and Clubhouse

The golf course provides plenty of beautiful scenery for couple’s portraits, with open green spaces and a relaxed, natural atmosphere. I also really like the covered entrance at the front of the clubhouse. It’s an attractive spot for portraits and particularly useful if it starts raining. Having a sheltered location that still looks beautiful in photographs is a big advantage with Florida’s unpredictable weather.

Inside, the reception space has some lovely windows that can make great backdrops for portraits as well.

What to Know About Photography at Magnolia Point

One thing to keep in mind is that some of the getting-ready areas can be a little dark. In particular, the room I’ve typically photographed the guys getting ready in has windows along only one side. Staying close to those windows during getting-ready photos helps us take advantage of the available natural light.

The different photography locations around the property also aren’t quite as close together as they are at some smaller wedding venues. Nothing is particularly far away, but it’s worth allowing a little time to move between locations.

Tips for Planning Your Magnolia Point Wedding

If you’re considering a first look, Magnolia Point is a venue where I’d definitely recommend it. Taking some portraits before the ceremony can make the rest of the photography timeline feel more relaxed and give us additional flexibility for photos afterward.

Of course, a first look isn’t necessary if you’d rather wait until the ceremony to see each other. It’s simply something worth considering when planning your schedule, especially if you’d like to take advantage of several different portrait locations around the property.

And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, the covered clubhouse entrance and attractive indoor spaces provide some great alternatives for portraits.
