Wedding Photography at The White Room

With multiple spaces for both ceremonies and receptions, there's something for whatever you looking for for your big day, whether it's the bright and beautiful Villa Blanca, the elegant ballroom, or the incredible view of the rooftop.

The White Room Wedding Photography in St. Augustine, Florida

The White Room is one of my favorite wedding venues in downtown St. Augustine, Florida. What makes it unique is the variety of beautiful spaces available for weddings. Between Villa Blanca, the ballroom, and the rooftop, couples have several different options for their ceremony and reception, each with its own atmosphere and style.

My Favorite Wedding Photo Locations at The White Room

The rooftop is definitely one of my favorite places to photograph weddings at The White Room. Between the waterfront views, downtown scenery, and string lights, it’s a beautiful backdrop for portraits and candid moments throughout the day. It’s also a wonderful setting for first dances. I even photographed a wedding where it started raining during the couple’s first dance on the rooftop. Fortunately, it wasn’t raining too hard, and the photographs ended up being really beautiful. It’s one of those moments that reminds me how memorable wedding photos can be when something unexpected happens.

Another thing I love about The White Room is its location right in the heart of historic St. Augustine. There are so many great places to take portraits within walking distance of the venue. The Bridge of Lions, Aviles Street, and the nearby courtyard are all beautiful options, and there’s even a really pretty alleyway right next to The White Room that I enjoy using for photographs.

If you’re willing to take a short drive, the Castillo de San Marcos is another great option. Between the waterfront, historic architecture, and charming streets, downtown St. Augustine offers a lot of variety for wedding portraits. We can capture several different looks without having to travel very far.

What to Know About Weddings at The White Room

One of the biggest things to plan for when getting married at The White Room is parking. Being right in the middle of downtown St. Augustine is wonderful for photography, but it can also make parking a little challenging. The White Room doesn’t have its own dedicated parking, so it’s important to make sure your wedding party, family, and guests understand the parking situation ahead of time.

The Casa Monica Hotel is nearby and offers valet parking, which may be an option worth looking into, depending on its current policies and availability. Otherwise, guests may need to find parking elsewhere downtown and walk to the venue. I’d recommend communicating parking information clearly before the wedding so nobody is scrambling to figure things out at the last minute.

Tips for Planning Your White Room Wedding

My biggest recommendation is to trust your coordinators. The White Room has an experienced staff that handles weddings all the time, and they really know what they’re doing. Lean on them for the logistics of your wedding day, and work with your photographer to create a timeline that allows enough time for the portraits you want.

Most of the wedding day is pretty self-contained within the venue, but many of the best portrait locations are outside in downtown St. Augustine. I’d recommend bringing comfortable shoes or flats for walking between photo spots, especially if you’re planning to explore some of the nearby streets and landmarks.

It’s also worth building a little extra time into your photography timeline so we can take advantage of the surrounding area without feeling rushed. With so many beautiful locations nearby, it’s nice to have the flexibility to explore a little.
