Wedding Photography at Brannan's Barn

Brannan's Barn is a hidden game of a farmhouse tucked away in west Jacksonville. It has a quaint barn aesthetic with little touches of industrial design that tie together beautifully. Surrounded by endless greenery, there's no shortage of beautiful spaces for photos.

Brannan’s Barn Wedding Photography in Jacksonville, Florida

Brannan’s Barn is a bit of a hidden gem in the Jacksonville area. It’s a small, secluded wedding venue with a relaxed country atmosphere, and it’s surprisingly charming for such an intimate property. If you’re planning a smaller wedding and want something beautiful without the expense or formality of a large venue, it’s definitely worth considering.

One thing I like about photographing weddings at Brannan’s Barn is its combination of farmhouse charm and subtle industrial details. You’ll find rustic touches, old farm equipment, and pretty outdoor scenery, but the interior also has some unique features that make it feel a little different from a traditional barn venue.

My Favorite Wedding Photo Locations at Brannan’s Barn

The Entrance Road and Sign

One of my favorite places for wedding portraits is the main entrance road beneath the Brannan’s Barn sign. It’s a really pretty setting that captures the country feel of the property. If you’re choosing a barn wedding venue because you love that rustic atmosphere, this is a great spot to show it off in your photos.

The Glass Garage Door

One of the more unexpected photography backdrops at Brannan’s Barn is the large glass garage door inside. It adds a modern, industrial touch to the space and actually makes a beautiful background for family portraits. I like having an option like this because it gives us some variety beyond the traditional outdoor barn photographs.

The Getting-Ready Suite

The getting-ready suite is another attractive part of the venue. It’s a pretty space for photographing those moments before the ceremony, from finishing touches to candid interactions with your wedding party.

What to Know About Getting Married at Brannan’s Barn

Brannan’s Barn is best suited for smaller, more intimate weddings. The property has plenty of open outdoor space, but the venue itself isn’t particularly large, so it’s worth keeping your guest count in mind.

There’s also not a lot of natural shade across some of the outdoor portrait locations. If you’re getting married during the warmer months in Florida, I’d recommend bringing fans, sunscreen, and anything else that will help everyone stay comfortable while we’re taking pictures. The ceremony area has shade options, and the reception takes place indoors, so this is mainly something to think about when moving around the property for portraits.

Because some of the photo locations are spread out, it’s also a good idea to allow a little extra walking time in your photography schedule.

Tips for Planning Your Brannan’s Barn Wedding

One thing I’d recommend is making sure you have everything you need before arriving. Brannan’s Barn is tucked away in a quiet area, which is part of what makes it appealing, but a last-minute trip to pick something up can take more time than you might expect.

Another thing to plan ahead is how you’ll keep the couple from seeing each other before the ceremony, if that’s important to you. Since the outdoor spaces are fairly open and indoor space is limited, coordinating where everyone will be can take a little extra thought. This is especially important if you’re planning a first look or want to save that moment for walking down the aisle.

Neither of these things is a big issue with a little planning, and the laid-back atmosphere makes Brannan’s Barn a lovely place to celebrate with your closest friends and family.
