Oyster Bay Yacht Club Wedding Photography in Fernandina Beach, Florida

Oyster Bay Yacht Club is genuinely one of my favorite wedding venues anywhere in Northeast Florida. Located in Fernandina Beach, it offers beautiful marsh views, a peaceful waterfront atmosphere, and an incredible variety of locations for wedding photography.

One of the things I love most about Oyster Bay is how secluded it feels. It’s quiet, tucked away from the busier parts of town, and has an atmosphere that makes it feel like you and your guests have the entire place to yourselves. Between the marina, the greenery, and the marsh, there are so many beautiful backdrops to work with.

My Favorite Wedding Photo Locations at Oyster Bay Yacht Club

The Marsh at Sunset

The marsh is easily my favorite feature of Oyster Bay Yacht Club. It’s one of the best locations I’ve photographed for sunset portraits, with beautiful open views and gorgeous light over the water and marsh grass.

Some of my favorite wedding photographs from this venue have been taken here around sunset. I always recommend setting aside a little time to head out to the marsh for portraits, even if we’ve already taken plenty of pictures earlier in the day.

It’s a short walk from the main venue, so I’d suggest bringing comfortable shoes or flats to change into while we make our way there.

The Marina and Boats

Another feature I love is the marina, where the docked boats create a beautiful coastal backdrop for portraits. It’s a different look from the natural marsh scenery, and it photographs well throughout the year.

For couples who love the water and coastal atmosphere, these are some of the details that make Oyster Bay such a special place to get married.

The Greenery and Brick Walkways

The front of the venue is also really pretty, with lush greenery, attractive brick-paved roads, and walkways that make great portrait locations. The outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by greenery, creating a romantic, natural setting.

I love having these options because we can create a nice variety of photographs without every picture looking like it was taken in the same spot.

What to Know About Weddings at Oyster Bay Yacht Club

One thing to keep in mind is that Oyster Bay Yacht Club is a little off the beaten path. That’s part of what makes it feel so private, but it also means you should double-check that you have everything you need before arriving. A last-minute trip to pick something up could take longer than expected.

I’d also recommend discussing the rain plan with the venue coordinator ahead of time. The ceremony space is outdoors, and there isn’t a separate indoor ceremony option, so a tent would be the alternative if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

The good news is that the staff and coordinators at Oyster Bay are excellent. My experience has been that they’re great to work with, and I’d encourage couples to trust their guidance when planning the day.

Tips for Planning Your Oyster Bay Wedding

Definitely take advantage of the getting-ready spaces near the venue. They’re attractive, conveniently located, and make a beautiful setting for photographs before the ceremony.

I’d also make sunset portraits over the marsh a priority. It’s one of the most beautiful features of the property, and it’s absolutely worth building a little time into your schedule for the walk out there. Bringing a comfortable pair of shoes will make that much easier.

With so many different photo locations, Oyster Bay gives us plenty of opportunities to create a varied wedding gallery while still keeping the day relaxed and enjoyable.
